Alexander Coffee Table

The Alexander Coffee Table sets a round quartersawn white oak top on a base cut from a single piece of strangler fig - a root mass that grows around its host tree and holds onto every hollow and channel where the two met. No two bases are the same, which is the whole point: the one that ends up in your room gets chosen from several, so the piece is as much selected as it is built. The white oak was picked to sit alongside the fig's coloring rather than compete with it, and a water-based finish on both keeps the tone cool and natural instead of ambering the way an oil would. 

• Dimensions: 42" Dia x 19"H, with the fig base approximately 38" Dia, set 2" inside the top all the way around
• Materials: Solid strangler fig base, quartersawn white oak top
• Finish: 2K Poly water-based, applied to both the base and the top
• Custom orders: Available on request. Every strangler fig base is a single natural root form, so no two are alike - we present several and you choose the one that becomes your table.
• Lead time: Made-to-order, 8-10 weeks
